About Our Programs

Financial Education & Coaching facilitates workshops and provides the individualized financial coaching you are seeking so you can make financial decisions that will lead to a healthier financial future.

There are no fees for individualized financial coaching services and most of the program’s workshops. Let us help you make a budget that works so you can begin experiencing strong financial stability.

Financial Peace University

SpiriTrust Lutheran® Financial Education & Coaching is accepting registrations for Financial Peace University. Participants will learn lessons to help get out of debt and save money.

This nine-week biblical-based curriculum that teaches you how to handle money God’s way is offered throughout the year through partnerships with churches and other organizations. The participant kit is $50 per individual or couple. The 1.5 hour workshop will be held for nine consecutive weeks during two different time periods beginning Wednesday August 1. Participants should choose the time period that best suits their schedule.

  • 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Workshops will be held at 907 Roosevelt Avenue in York.

Financial Education Workshops

Our financial education workshops provide culturally relevant information to help you begin taking action towards achieving life-changing financial wellness.

If you are interested in one of the free workshops below, you may request one or more to be facilitated at your church, organization or business or inquire about community group workshops.

Basic Budgeting

Everyone can benefit from budgeting and spending plans, so this class explores various budgeting tools to use for developing healthy spending choices. You also will learn how to quickly reduce debt and prevent financial struggles moving forward.


Explore the various types of insurance and assess if your current insurance coverage is sufficient for you and your family. You also will receive an overview of how to research and shop for suitable insurance products on your own or with the support of an insurance professional. This workshop is open to everyone regardless of current insurance coverage status.

Enhancing Employability

In this class you will explore various mediums to search for jobs, learn ways to strengthen your resume, participate in interview role play activities and explore what career path may be best suited for your personality, skills and temperament.

Personal Credit

This workshop is designed to improve your overall personal credit health. The workshop provides an overview of the credit scoring system, credit facts, credit report basics and key factors for improving your personal credit status.

Surviving Student Loans

This workshop will provides an overview of borrowing options available for post-secondary education. In addition to the tax benefits available for education, you will explore the various federal, state and private grant and loan programs available to support your education efforts. Computer access and assistance also will be available for anyone wishing to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Individualized Financial Coaching

Gain control of your personal finances with our free, confidential, one-on-one financial coaching. Through financial coaching you will learn easy-to-implement money management principles and techniques.

Our financial coaches are trained to give you practical information, strategies and accountability measures so you may begin to experience a healthier financial future.

During our coaching sessions you will learn:

  • How to reduce spending
  • How to communicate with your spouse or partner regarding financial matters

Bridges Out of Poverty

Geared towards employers, community organizations and social service organizations this structured program provides comprehensive information and strategies to address and reduce poverty.
