SpiriTrust Lutheran is now hiring a Counselor III--FT Days-Some Evenings 

We provide residential living, assisted living, personal care, memory support and nursing and rehabilitation services in six senior living communities; home care, in-home support, palliative care and hospice services; an innovative program for clinically frail adults aged 55 and older in need of nursing home level-of-care; counseling services; financial education and coaching; domestic abuse solutions; services for the deaf and hard of hearing; volunteer income tax assistance; and an array of volunteer programs.

Basic Qualifications of a Counselor 

Education/Training:  A Master’s degree in Behavioral Health or Counseling normally required; must possess current, unencumbered Commonwealth of Pennsylvania license to provide behavioral health counseling.
Skill(s): Speaks and understands English; proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communication skills; proficient analytical and assessment skills; basic PC skills; and valid driver’s license. 
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year’s experience in counseling, post-licensure.
General Responsibilities
Skill(s):  Responsible for providing direct client services and communication; achieving goals as established in the Program’s annual operating plan; coordinating work within the Program, as well as with other Programs; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information.

Essential Duties

Interacts with, residents, clients, staff, and the general public in ways that demonstrate the agency’s commitment to courtesy, service, and hospitality befitting a church related organization
Provides direct client services and communication illustrated by the following
Performs new client assessments as follows:
Performs initial intake assessment.
Provides written summary of significant findings and written          recommendations.
Conducts comprehensive psychosocial assessment of home environment, supportive relationships, financial/employment resources, and community involvements.
Provides clinical therapy as follows:
Provides individual, conjoint, and family therapy within areas of training and expertise.
Develops comprehensive treatment plans and goals.
Maintains appropriate documentation for each treatment session.
Updates and revises treatment goals as necessary.
Coordinates services with medical and social services providers in the community, as needed.
As requested, performs consultative services, i.e., juvenile probation, seminary, physician, etc.
As appropriate, participates in communication with clients, family members, physicians, staff, and others.
Appropriately communicates clients’ care information to physician, team supervisor, and other intra/inter-disciplinary team members.
As appropriate, serves as client advocate in communications interactions.
Produces legible documentation in agency format.
Maintains professional competency, credentials, and licenses.
Achieves goals assigned to Counselor III as established in the Program’s annual operating plan.
Accurately records time worked or not worked as illustrated by the following:
Accurately records time in and out oat the start and end of each shift and at the start and end of each meal break utilizing the Agency’s timekeeping system.
Makes corrections to the timekeeping system, as necessary, on appropriate forms within the required payroll timeframe.
Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the Program as well as with other Programs in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
Abides by the current laws and organizational standards and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.
Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all Agency standards, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and compliance with all regulatory requirements, i.e., HIPAA, OSHA, etc.
Abides by and supports the organization’s code of conduct by exhibiting behavior that is set forth in the code of conduct.  Performs duties in accordance with the code of conduct and completes annual compliance training.
Adheres to all ethical standards of conduct as described by the appropriate professional association/membership, i.e., American Psychological Association.
Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate personne
Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or requests from customers, other personnel, etc., within given timeframes and within established policy.
