SpiriTrust Lutheran is now hiring a Senior Companion Program Coordinator.

Performs various administrative duties relating to the Senior Companion Program as illustrated by the following:


a.      Processes requests for service, assigning appropriate Senior Companion to client; maintains regular contact with volunteer stations; assists with matching clients with appropriate Senior Companions;

b.      Maintains volunteer and client files, including the electronic database program.

c.       Processes volunteer timesheets bi-weekly; maintains all documentation regarding volunteer hours, reimbursements, monthly statistics, etc.; forwards information as needed.

d.      Monitors client satisfaction through follow-up contacts; takes corrective action as necessary.

e.      Designs and compiles monthly volunteer newsletter.

f.        Assists with mailing of all annual and other surveys throughout the year related to the Program.

g.      Assists in developing Program policies and procedures.

h.      Oversee Program in absence of Director.

i.        Appropriately receives, processes, forwards, or originates oral and written communications.

j.        Appropriately communicates with supervisor to keep him/her well informed regarding the status of task and responsibilities.

k.       Maintains appropriate inventories of office supplies.

l.        Performs other duties as assigned.


Provides volunteer oversight as follows:


a.      Recruits and determines eligibility/suitability of volunteers.

b.      Coordinates and conducts pre-service and on-going training and education to volunteers; provides ongoing support and counsel to volunteers.

c.       Assists station staff and Program Director in evaluation of volunteer performance.

d.      Evaluates and resolves problems/grievances and recommends disciplinary action involving volunteers and volunteer stations.

e.      Monitors all letters of agreement and volunteer assignment plan on individual clients placed in private homes.


Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.


Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other personnel, etc., within given timeframes and within established policy.


Ancillary Duties: Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances.

Education/Training: A high school diploma or equivalent with an emphasis in a business curriculum.

Skill(s): Speak and understand English; moderate reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communication skills; proficient keyboarding, word processing, and Proficient in Microsoft Office a must.   Refer to separate analysis for physical requirements of the essential functions with or without accommodation.

Experience:   A minimum of 1 yrs. experience in related positions normally required.
