This position is split between two SpiriTrust Lutheran communities that are in York, PA and are approximately 1.5 miles away from one another

Basic Qualifications
Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree in education or a human service field normally required.
Skill(s): Speaks and understands English; proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communication skills; proficient PC skills; general knowledge of community and church resources; and valid driver’s license. 
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a community service or volunteer setting normally required.
General Responsibilities
Responsible for exercising oversight and management of volunteer services; performing various administrative duties; achieving goals as established in the programs’ annual operating plan; coordinating work within the Senior Living Community, as well as with other programs; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information.
 Essential Duties
Supports the mission and values of SpiriTrust Lutheran which is: SpiriTrust Lutheran, witnessing to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, provides exceptional health, human, and senior living services by supporting persons in achieving an optimal quality of life.

Interacts with residents, clients, staff, and the general public in ways that demonstrate the agency’s commitment to courtesy, service, and hospitality befitting a church related organization.
Exercises oversight and management of  volunteer services as illustrated by the following:
Recruits volunteers; initiates and maintains referral sources, including networking with community and church based organizations, public speaking, etc.
Assigns volunteers appropriately based on the skills of the volunteer and the needs of the Agency
Oversees and coordinates referral process.
Oversees Congregational Health Program, Touch-A-Life Ministry Program, Stephen Ministry, and Senior Living Community volunteer services as assigned.
Provides coordination with the Senior Companion Program as assigned
Keeps volunteers up-to-date on correct procedures, new services, and changes within the volunteer programs via newsletters, meetings, etc.
Maintains liaison with Auxiliary as requested.
In conjunction with the Director of Volunteer Services, develops and updates the volunteer training manual and materials.
Prepares annual program budget and ensures compliance with its fiscal guidelines during the budget year
Performs various administrative duties as follow
Communicates regularly, both orally and in writing, with supervisor to keep him/her informed as to the ongoing operations of the program and other responsibilities.
Maintains appropriate documents and statistical information to properly monitor performance of programs and responsibilities
Serves on committees as directed by director.
Manages volunteers' performances as follows:
Recruits, selects, orients, and makes provisions for the proper training of volunteers; regularly reviews the performance and volunteer assignments of this group.
Makes certain that all relevant information is properly communicated to the group in order to give them every opportunity to perform their assignments properly.
Organizes and schedules assignments among volunteers.
Conducts regular meetings with the volunteers.
Administers established Standards of Practice and other procedures as established by agency policy.
Coordinates specific work tasks with other staff within the programs as well as with other programs in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
Accurately records days worked or not worked via the timekeeping system.
Abides by the current laws and organizational standards and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.
Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all Agency standards, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and compliance with all regulatory requirements, i.e., HIPAA, OSHA, etc.
Abides by and supports the organization’s code of conduct by exhibiting behavior that is set forth in the code of conduct.  Performs duties in accordance with the code of conduct and completes annual compliance training.
Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate personnel
Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other staff, etc., within given timeframes and within established policy
