Our Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Program is accepting enthusiastic and driven individuals who are interested in obtaining their nursing assistant certification. The program begins Monday, February 20 with classes scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at SpiriTrust Lutheran®, The Villages at Kelly Drive and Sprenkle Drive in York, PA. Training will consist of 10 days in the classroom and lab at The Village at Kelly Drive and eight days of on-site clinical experience spaced over the course of three and one half weeks at The Village at Sprenkle Drive.

We are pleased to announce that our newly developed Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Program is seeking enthusiastic and driven individuals who are interested in obtaining their nursing assistant certification. Eugene Lane, RN, who previously served as director of nursing at SpiriTrust Lutheran® The Village at Shrewsbury skilled care center, serves as program instructor.

The program begins Monday, February 20 with classes scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at SpiriTrust Lutheran®, The Villages at Kelly Drive and Sprenkle Drive in York, PA. Training will consist of 10 days in the classroom and lab at The Village at Kelly Drive and eight days of on-site clinical experience spaced over the course of three and one half weeks at The Village at Sprenkle Drive.

Participants are expected to commit to a minimum of one year of full-time employment at SpiriTrust Lutheran after completing the program and passing the certification exam. CNA hiring wages will be based on previous experience.

Based on the Certified Nurse Aide Program, approved by the PA Department of Education and offered by a variety of organizations, participants will learn the following components of resident care:

  • Bathing, dressing, feeding and toileting
  • Vital sign measuring and recording
  • Catheter care
  • Range of motion exercises
  • Wheelchair transportation
  • Bed making
  • Infection control and safety awareness
  • Post-mortem care
