Volunteer Spotlight

William “Bill” Sanders is a retired route salesman who drove for Lance Foods. He started driving for SpiriTrust Lutheran® Touch-a-Life to give back and help others. He very much enjoys meeting the care receivers and talking with them.

Bill’s favorite hobby is playing cards. In fact, he organized card playing groups at SpiriTrust Lutheran®, The Village at Sprenkle Drive with assisted living residents. He also enjoys playing with his new cat, Toni.

Bill says, “Volunteering with Touch-a-Life gives me fulfillment. I’ve met so many wonderful people that feel like friends, not clients. I thank SpiriTrust Lutheran for the opportunity to help people in need.”

Harold Westgate, SpiriTrust Lutheran® Touch-a-Life volunteer driver

“Being a driver for SpiriTrust Lutheran® Touch-a-Life program is one of the best experiences I have ever had. I look forward to every client. If you try hard enough you can find something in common. I do my best to make every client feel special. I want both of us to look forward to seeing each other again.”
