Volunteer Spotlight

Deb Petrilla and her dog, Ruby, are the newest volunteer team at SpiriTrust Lutheran®, The Village at Luther Ridge. Ruby is a two-year old Vizsla, a unique Hungarian breed characterized by its short hair, reddish-brown color and docked tail.

Deb learned early on that Ruby was a very loving, caring dog and she wanted to share Ruby’s love with other people. Ruby earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen title at just eight months of age and is now registered as a therapy dog with Therapy Dogs International.

Harold Westgate, SpiriTrust Lutheran® Touch-a-Life volunteer driver

“Being a driver for SpiriTrust Lutheran® Touch-a-Life program is one of the best experiences I have ever had. I look forward to every client. If you try hard enough you can find something in common. I do my best to make every client feel special. I want both of us to look forward to seeing each other again.”
